At the end of each quarter a Muster Roll of the enlisted men on the
USS Helena was put together.
A two page Recapitulation at the end summarized, in numerical format,
each of the various categories.
The 31 December 1941 Recapitulation states that 25 men were lost.
The Report of Changes was published at least once each quarter.
Typically there are names of men received on board ( REC ),
men transferred ( TRANS ), and Changes in Rating ( CR ).
The 31 December 1941 Report of Changes is quite different :
The men who DIED on the Helena.
Those injured and
TRANS to US Naval Hospital, Pearl Harbor.
Men who were TRANS from other ships sunk or damaged.
What is NOT noted in the Report of Changes are
those men who DIED at the Naval Hospital.

In 2019 Sharlien Harrington and her family made a special trip to
Honolulu.
Sharlien's father was S1c Albert Lawrence Lucchetti, a USS Helena
Pearl Harbor Survivor.
While at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific,
Sharlien used my orginal list of 25 Pearl Harbor deaths to
take photos of each grave marker of the 9 men buried there.
Her family was with her, placing flags and leis to honor them.
Sharlien's photos are in the second and third pages.
