Report of Raid
Page 1

There are two versions of this report, the original and a transcription by Patrick Clancey.
At Fold 3 the original report in this section is titled

Report of Japanese Raid on Pearl Harbor 7 December 1941

The print quality in many of these pages is not ideal and thanks to
the work of Patrick Clancey, there is a much easier version to read.

Brief Report of the Japanese Attack

A considerable amount of details are within
this report and some are duplicated in others.

Close to the top is a paragraph titled Enclosure:
At the far right of ( A ) and ( C ) is the word
Omitted

Paragraph 2 is titled Offensive Measures taken.

Keeping track of the times when events took place has been problematic
as there were so many things taking place simultaneously.

These are approximate times of:

Planes observed over Ford Island: 0757

General Quarters sounded : 0757

Time that torpedo hit : 0758 or 0759

Time of near misses : 0757 - 0800

Comments on Casualties are in page 3

The two pages of the original MAILGRAM in Page 4 contain a very concise summary
of the action that took place the morning of 7 December 1941.

In there is a clarification of the four near misses by bombs
dropped from either dive bombers or horizontal bombers.
